Once I see the lambs on the moors and on this farm I know we are coming into spring. In spite of the difficult weather lately, the seasons do seem to keep to a cycle. The lambs come when they are due, all in good time. I love this Japanese version of the 23rd Psalm, The Lord is my shepherd. It reminds me that we are always in God’s care, in the time of God’s creating, in a moment of eternity, expressing just what we need at any one moment.
The Lord is my pacemaker, I shall not rush.
He makes me stop for quiet intervals.
He provides me with images of stillness which restore my sanity.
He leads me in ways of efficiency through calmness of mind
and His guidance is peace.
Even though I have a great many things to accomplish each day,
I will not fret, for His presence is here.
His timelessness, His All-importance will keep me in balance.
He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of my activity,
by anointing my mind with His oil of tranquillity.
My cup of joyous energy overflows.
Surely harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruit of my hours,
and I shall walk in the pace of the Lord
and dwell in His House, for ever.
